PVision Secures EXIST Start-up Grant for Innovative Photovoltaic Analysis Solution
2024 . 10 . 31
PVision, a start-up team from Stuttgart, has received the EXIST Business Start-up Grant to support their pioneering project in photovoltaic (PV) damage detection. Consisting of Jonas Lackmann, Kai Ritter, and Markus B., the PVision team is focused on developing an AI-powered solution that enables electricians to inspect PV systems for damage. This tool not only identifies potential issues but also empowers electricians to generate repair quotes on-site, streamlining the maintenance and repair process for existing PV systems.
The EXIST grant, funded by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), is designed to support innovative, technology-oriented, or knowledge-based business ideas from students, graduates, and researchers. With a duration of 12 months, the grant provides valuable resources to help turn promising ideas into successful businesses. It includes a monthly stipend, project-related expenses, and coaching funds, ensuring that young start-ups like PVision can progress toward market readiness with a solid foundation.
"Existing photovoltaic systems are rarely inspected for damages. PVision fills this gap, making it easier for electricians to assess systems and propose timely repairs," says the PVision team, who are eager to drive innovation in sustainable energy maintenance. This support from the EXIST program offers the team the resources they need to bring their AI-based PV analysis solution closer to the market, contributing to the efficiency and sustainability of solar energy systems.
The EXIST grant is an essential tool in Germany’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, fostering new ideas and supporting university-affiliated entrepreneurs in technology and research-driven fields. With this backing, PVision is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.
