Anker SOLIX X1: the home energy storage system for today’s needs

Solar power is in high demand in Germany: in 2022, 54.3 million megawatt hours of solar electricity were fed into the grid, making up 11% of total electricity (Statistisches Bundesamt). Rising energy prices, natural disasters threatening entire regions, and the shift to renewable energy make many households and businesses want more independence and better protection from blackouts.

All-in-one systems like Anker SOLIX X1 are a great solution for consumers, system integrators, and installers. They let you use your own solar energy flexibly: for your home, feeding into the grid, or as backup power. At the same time, they’re cost-efficient and easy to set up.

Long-lasting modular system with adjustable capacity

The X1 is a modular solar energy storage system. Each unit has a control device that connects with up to six battery modules. Each module provides 5 kWh. This means capacity can be easily expanded when energy needs grow. Smaller households don’t need to pay for extra capacity they won’t use.

Thanks to its modular design and the Anker SOLIX Energy Optimizer, a single faulty battery module can be isolated without affecting the rest of the system. In case of a power outage, the X1 switches to backup in under 10 milliseconds, keeping household devices running.

Before extreme weather, users can even set how much storage should be kept full in preparation for outages.

Flexible energy use for big savings

With an average use of 5,000 kWh per year and a price of €0.35/kWh, households can save hundreds of euros annually with the X1, paying off the system quickly. Stored energy can be used flexibly. The X1 is SG-Ready (works with heat pumps) and can also charge an EV with the Anker SOLIX EV Charger (coming later in 2024).

Elegant and slim design

Thanks to its all-in-one slim design, the X1 blends into any home. No messy wiring, no bulky components. The battery, power module, and inverter are all in one sleek unit. It’s 40% thinner than typical systems and runs very quietly at under 30 dB.

The front has an intuitive display that turns on automatically when you stand near it, showing internet connection, grid status, power use, charging level, and daily solar production.

Installation is also simple: at 51 kg for the control unit and 28 kg per battery, two installers can set it up in about 20 minutes. The X1 works with all standard solar panels, so it can also be added to existing systems.

Safety, durability, and certification

The X1 is IP65 certified for dust and rain, works in -25 to +55 °C, and has a C5 anti-corrosion rating, so it’s safe even in coastal regions. It is TÜV Süd certified and comes with a 10-year warranty.

Easy service and installer benefits

Users can track storage and grid feed-in in the Anker App. Installers benefit too: the Anker SOLIX Professional App provides an O&M portal linked to their service network. They can see all installed systems, monitor performance, get alerts, run remote tests, configure settings, and push updates – saving time and providing proactive service.

A boost for businesses too

Small and medium businesses also face high energy costs. The X1 is a great solution not only for homes but also for companies. Up to six X1 systems can run in parallel (36 battery modules), providing up to 180 kWh of energy. This allows businesses to save money by charging storage during weekends or holidays, and have full batteries ready for Monday operations or as backup in case of outages.
